The non-profit organization Bruised Food Club (BFC) is looking for a secretary for its upcoming annual meeting, which will take place between late May and early June.

BFC aims to reduce and avoid food waste and fight food insecurity. We do this by:

Helping organizations reduce their food waste in line with the Global Goals as part of the UN 2030 Agenda;
Reintroducing edible food into the consumption chain, and making it available to society;
Promote interest in and knowledge about, food waste and sustainable production and consumption.

The secretary is responsible for writing the minutes in meetings when present and sends out a monthly newsletter to the followers. Furthermore, the secretary is responsible for keeping the documents and the drive organized, monitoring BFC’s email and communicating to the rest of the team about events, courses and workshops.

At Bruised Food Club we mostly speak English, so good knowledge of English is a merit.
This role is very flexible and therefore easy to combine with university studies or with another job!

It is important to mention that every new board member will receive an in-depth introduction in the role as well as mentoring from the person that held the role previously.

Minimum commitment

The board positions have a one year duration starting from summer 2025 until the next Yearly Meeting in 2026.

When and where the opportunity takes place

The work is based in Uppsala during the week as well as on week ends. However, times for meetings are agreed upon between the volunteers and the board members.
