Join Us in Supporting LGBTQI Refugees

Newcomers Gothenburg is a gathering space and network for LGBTQI migrants and LGBTQI refugees.  

We have activities and meetings twice a week and are seeking new volunteers to help us support our participants. 

Do you want to make a difference and influence someone's life for the better?

As a volunteer in Newcomers, you'll get to do just that.   

As a volunteer in Newcomers, you will help us arrange activities and help our participants with things like CV, job search, practicing Swedish, exploring self-expression through movement or creative pursuits, finding community and belonging away from home (whatever you feel inspired to do).   

Currently, we're looking for volunteers who can specifically help our participants with job search, CVs, and/or integrating into Swedish culture and LGBTQ community (please apply even if you don't fit into these. We love learning about what specialty skills you'd have to offer as well)

We are looking for you who:
* Is an LGBTQI person themselves
* Is confident in yourself and in working in a group
* Is an attentive "listener" and can see to the needs of both individuals and the group
* Has knowledge of norm criticism and anti-racism
(( * It is advantageous if you have experience of being racialized and/or know more languages ​​​​​​​​than Swedish and English but not a must))

Being a volunteer within RFSL Gothenburg is a non-profit assignment and takes place without financial compensation.
