Torchlight protest on International Women’s Day - Get involved!

 We are looking for volunteers to assist during Uppsala tjej- och transjour’s torchlight protest on International Women’s Day, 8th of March 2025.

Every year, we organize a torchlight protest on International Women’s Day to raise awareness of the reality, injustice and oppression girls face in society. This year, our theme is “#ExposeViolence - Online violence is also violence”, bringing attention to girls’ exposure to online violence and the digital abuse many young people endure.

All children and young people have the right to online safety. In particular, we want to emphasize the experience of young girls, as this group is disproportionally affected.

As a volunteer during the parade, you will help with safety and guidance, ensuring the event runs smoothly. You can get involved in various tasks, such as:
