Amnesty International seeks: members for a poetry group

Amnesty in Gothenburg is starting a poetry group focused on human rights! As a member, you’ll help plan and host poetry nights a few times per term. The group itself will decide the themes for each event, with all suggestions welcome.

Through powerful poetry, we’ll address issues like women’s rights, LGBTQI rights, migration, climate justice, and more—using creativity to highlight human rights topics that matter.

What does the assignment involve?

Attending group meetings 1-2 times a month
Planning and hosting poetry nights centered on human rights
Developing the group’s structure and exploring new event formats

What will you gain?

Gain skills in event planning, group organization, and activism

No special experience is required; Amnesty will provide any support you need!

Minimum commitment

2 hours a month

When and where?

The group will decide together where to meet, with a mix of digital meetings and in-person gatherings at Amnesty’s office in Gothenburg. Events will mainly take place in Gothenburg.
